Rabay Chicken Trap of Palawan Tagbanwa Tribe

This interesting Chicken Trap or Rabay of from the Palawan Tagbanwa Tribe from Central Palawan of The Southern Philippines.

I purchased this unusual item on my last trip to the Philippines. I am sorry to say that I do not know how it is supposed to work. If someone could enlighten me, I will pass it on. The round smiley type face item is made from a coconut shell and is about 7 inches in diameter. Each of the four wooden Sticks measure between 13 and 13.75 inches in length. The rolled up round of wicker I have left as is; I did not stretch it out to measure it.
