Mindanao Muslim Double Turtle Bone & Wood

Outstanding Bone and wood carving of two turtles tail to tail. This older piece is from the island of Mindanao in the Southern Philippines.

This is a lovely older piece which one does not get to see that often. It is a pair of turtles carved tail to tail made of bone and wood. It measures 6 1/4 inches tail to head, 1 3/4 inches wide and is about 1 1/8 inches tall. The pattern carved on the bone is similar to that on some scrimshaw.
