Mindanao Muslim Old Metal Tobacco box

Wonderful box from Mindanao in the southern Philippines made by the Muslims.

This is a nice old piece I purchased on a recent trip to the Philippines. There is wear on this piece but one expects it with older items. It looks to be made of brass but I am not sure. There is one area on the upper wing which is discolored; this can be seen in the first picture above. With the lid on it measures 5.50 inches high. It is just under 2 inches in diameter.
